Davydenko quits match with shortness of breath

ST. POELTEN, Austria -- Russia's Nikolay Davydenko quit after two sets of his quarterfinal because of shortness of breath, allowing David Sanchez of Spain to advance at the Raiffeisen Grand Prix.

Davydenko, seeded third, was runner-up at this clay-court tournament last year. On Thursday, he won the first set 6-3, lost the second 6-1 and then stopped.
