There's no shame in getting swept in the World Series. It's happened before, and it'll happen again. Then again, the Cardinals weren't just swept. They were swept bad. The Cardinals are the 16th team to get swept, but they're only the fourth team to play an entire World Series without holding the lead for even a single half-inning.

How unlikely – and yes, embarrassing – was it, getting swept by the Red Sox? On the way to answering that question, let's look at all 15 previous sweeps, focusing on the team that got swept (but with an eye on the sweeper, too).
