Valentin to play third in L.A.

Los Angeles Dodgers: ESPN's Peter Gammons is reporting that Jose Valentin has agreed on a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Dodgers. He will take over at third for Adrian Beltre, who agreed to a five-year, $64 million deal with the Mariners on Thursday.

The left handed-hitting Valentin spent 2004 with the White Sox, compiling 30 homers, 70 RBI and a .216 batting average.
