Tim Shanley, Clifton, N.J.: I have the following running backs: Priest Holmes, Willis McGahee, Steven Jackson, Reuben Droughns, Tatum Bell, Nick Goings and Larry Johnson, but can only keep one for next season. I am considering keeping McGahee over the old Padre (due to age, injury problems and the presence of L.J.). Is that a smart fantasy decision or a mortal sin? Engel: Droughns and Bell could compete for playing time, and Goings might not be a good choice next year with DeShaun Foster expected to return. Johnson might stay in Kansas City as a backup, which doesn't help his keeper appeal. Jackson is a fine keeper option, but is not as potentially explosive as McGahee. The Buffalo RB has quickly put questions about his health to rest, and has a long, prosperous statistical future ahead of him. He's definitely a better keeper than Holmes, who has been getting nicked up often even when major injuries are not an issue. Considering you might only get another good year or two out of Holmes at best, McGahee, who has tons of upside, is clearly the better choice.
