German expected to play Aussie Open
PERTH, Australia -- Tommy Haas is expected to be fit for this month's Australian Open despite pulling out of the Hopman Cup on Thursday with a groin injury.
An MRI scan on Friday revealed a minor tear and the former No. 2 player in the world will miss this week's Medibank International in Sydney, although he is expected to recover for the year's first grand slam event beginning in Melbourne on Jan. 17.
