Ice-out good time for fishing in Irondequoit

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Ice-out along the Lake Ontario shoreline is not like the more northern parts of North America where it is celebrated with lotteries, fireworks and dancing in the streets.

But ice-out in the bays and tributaries of the New York lake is no less important to area anglers.

It is the beginning of some of the hottest fishing of the year.
