U.S. beat Canada earlier in day

VICTORIA, British Columbia -- The United States lost for the first time at the world curling championship, falling to Finland 7-5 in the last round of matches on Monday night.

Earlier, the Americans, led by skip Pete Fenson, rallied to defeat host Canada 8-7, after trailing 5-2 and 6-3.

Canada led 7-5 entering the 10th and final end, but the Americans scored three points when Canada's last shooter, Dave Nedohin, sailed his rock through the scoring area -- known as the house. ...
