Teams join Virginia, Johns Hopkins in title hunt
PRINCETON, N.J. -- The ACC became the first conference to claim three spots in the semifinals of the NCAA lacrosse tournament as Duke and Maryland posted quarterfinal wins Sunday to join Virginia and Johns Hopkins in the title chase in Philadelphia next weekend.
Matt Danowski scored two of his five goals in a game-breaking third quarter that led Duke to an 11-8 victory over Cornell in the second game of a Sunday's doubleheader at Princeton University.
