Climber returns from retirement

CELEBRATION, Fla. — Bad knees, bad backs, bad feet; they're all factors that drive athletes from sports, usually by their mid-30s. But not Guy German. The late-bloomer of the Speed Climb returned to this year's Great Outdoor Games, after declaring 2004's competition his last. At 51, he was more than the senior statesman of the event. He was twice the age (and then some) of his competitors. That's not to say he hasn't improved with time.
