Williams, Smith lead U.S. past Germany
IZMIR, Turkey -- Duke's Shelden Williams and Boston College's Craig Smith scored 20 points apiece to help the United States beat Germany 72-62 at the World University Games on Sunday.
The U.S. clinched the top spot in Group F with the victory and will play China in the next round. In the 2001 University Games semifinals, China ended Team USA's streak of six straight golds and 46 wins.
