Sidney Ponson might be the best thing that has happened to Rafael Palmeiro, because in the days ahead the discussion will be consumed with how the Orioles can get rid of Ponson -- especially in light of the new information that Sir Sidney was hanging out in a private box, rather than the dugout, during a game the other day.

And in light of Ponson's repeated transgressions, including his arrest Thursday on a drunken-driving charge, the Orioles might have grounds to void the remainder of his contract, as suggested by a source in this story.
