The basketball fate of Connecticut starting point guard Marcus Williams should be known within the next two weeks as the university sorts through the legal case that just concluded with Williams getting 18 months probation for his role in the thefts of four computers in a campus dorm. One thing is certain, though: the suspension by Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun won't be lifted before the Huskies open the season at Pepperdine and in the EA Sports Maui Invitational.
