Wilma damage won't slow Homestead race

Hurricane Wilma caused damage at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but the track plans to be ready for NASCAR's season-ending weekend Nov. 18-20.

Wind damaged light poles, grandstands, catch fencing that protects fans and garage suites, but not the track, the Miami Herald reported.

"Although there was some damage to the speedway due to Hurricane Wilma, Ford Championship Weekend remains on schedule," Curtis Gray, Homestead-Miami Speedway president, said on the track's Web site.
