Mets get nothing after Rogers exercises clause

NEW YORK -- Kenny Rogers decided to walk away from the New York Mets, blocking the team from offering him salary arbitration.


Rogers, who walked in the run that ended the Mets' season, cut off negotiations late Tuesday night when his agent told New York they couldn't offer arbitration because of a complicated provision in his expired contract.
