Robredo, Blake among seeds planted at Adelaide

ADELAIDE, Australia -- It was a bad day to be a seeded player at the Next Generation Adelaide International.

Third-ranked Tommy Robredo, No. 4 Mario Ancic and fifth-ranked James Blake all were upset in Wednesday's second round of the $419,000 season-opening tournament.

A native of Spain, Robredo dropped a 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-3 decision to Florent Serra of France. Robredo served for the first set at 5-4 but was broken at love and ultimately dropped the set in a tiebreak.
