TUCSON, Ariz. -- Walking off the field during a recent spring training game, the catcher pulls the black mask off his face, looks to his wife and 6-month-old daughter in the front row and asks a question.

"Is she sleeping yet?"

"Yes," his wife responds, smiling at the baby. "Finally."

"Good," the catcher responds, smiling back.
