Pirate doctors will examine Marte's shoulder
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Left-handed reliever Damaso Marte has an injured shoulder and will not pitch again for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.
"I've got some inflammation in the shoulder," Marte told ESPNdeportes.com. "We really don't know what it is, but I'm going to Pittsburgh to have it checked out. I'm going immediately to the United States to be checked out by one of the Pirates' doctors."
