Bucs, Panthers off to slow start
Head coach Jon Gruden has a monumental task of getting his offense back on track. QB Chris Simms and the Buccaneers offense looks out of sync and has really struggled to say the least. The biggest concern about Simms is his decision making and his inability to set his feet and make quicker throws in the pocket. Simms has thrown six interceptions and no touchdowns, and has a league-low passer rating of 39.9 and has had seven passes batted down at the line of scrimmage. The Buccaneers have very slim options at the backup QB position. Even though there is a strong supporting cast around Simms at the skills positions, the offensive line has been deficient and RB Cadillac Williams has yet to get going. Turnovers and critical mistakes are killing this offense.
