Sullivan wins Fifth Avenue Mile in 3:54.1

NEW YORK -- Kevin Sullivan, a four-time NCAA champion at Michigan who arrived in New York three hours before the race, won the Fifth Avenue Mile in 3 minutes, 54.1 seconds.

The Canadian outkicked Nick Willis (3:54.7) of New Zealand and Matt Tegenkamp (3:54.8) of Madison, Wis., in the straightaway dash down Fifth Avenue, with the finish at the foot of Central Park.
