Broncos forced to shuffle O-line
Lepsis has been a mainstay on this Denver offensive line. He is a 10-year veteran who has spent his entire career with the Broncos. A self-made player, he was signed as a free-agent tight end out of Colorado. In a strange twist it was a knee injury at the Senior Bowl that contributed to him going undrafted. In Lepsis, the Broncos saw a player who was going to miss his entire rookie season, but in that time could add a little weight and bulk to his frame and slide inside to the tackle position. Lepsis did just that and has been one of the more underrated players in the NFL at the OT position.
So what is the answer for Denver? Right now the Broncos will take a look at backup OT Erik Pears. Pears is also an undrafted player. He is in his second season out of Colorado State and saw his first regular-season game action this past week in relief of Lepsis.
