4 violations from 2,156 USADA doping tests in quarter
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency performed 2,156 doping control tests in the third quarter of 2006, resulting in four violations, including the one accepted by sprinter Justin Gatlin.
In August, Gatlin received a maximum eight-year ban resulting from a positive test for testosterone or other steroids -- the second positive doping test of his career. He has until next February to file an appeal in an attempt to shorten the ban.
