Oliver outpoints Carrera for junior featherweight belt
UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Fourth-ranked Mike Oliver used superior hand speed to unanimously outpoint No. 3 Adam Carrera Saturday night for the United States Boxing Association's vacant junior featherweight title.
Oliver, of Hartford, Conn., improved to 17-0 while Carrera, of Cathedral City, Calif., fell to 18-2.
The fight was scored 120-108, 118-110 and 116-112 for Oliver. There were no knockdowns.
