Cavaliers hire Jent as assistant coach

CLEVELAND -- Chris Jent, who had a brief stint as an NBA coach, has been named director of player development and assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers made the announcement Wednesday, hours before their season opener against the Washington Wizards. Jent, 36, coached the Orlando Magic for the final 18 games of the 2004-05 season, going 5-13.
