EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rod Thorn chuckled, giving a trademark "tee-hee" before dropping a vote of confidence on New Jersey Nets head coach Lawrence Frank. "Aw Chris," he said in that West Virginia drawl of his, "he isn't on the hot seat." On a team where nobody can quite put a finger on exactly what has gone wrong, nobody is pointing the finger at the diminutive young redhead with a penchant for trying out all kinds of inspirational material in an effort to light a fire under his team. (In one attempt earlier this season, he donned his business suit backward and walked rear-first into the locker room bearing the message that it was time to turn things around.)
