Head on Strait

ASPEN, COLO. --On January 13, Courtney Strait competed in the first skiercross race of her life. Call it beginner's luck or indisputable natural ability, but she successfully stomped the competition, topped the podium, and qualified for the 2007 Winter X Games.

Just 12 days after flying home from her inaugural win in Tahoe, the 25-year old from Albany, New York, scrounged up the cash, packed up her bags and headed to Aspen for what would be only the second skiercross race she ever entered.
