Enlightened by a yentel giant

Updated: February 1, 2007, 3:34 PM ET
When you get Top Rank promoter Bob Arum on the phone, he's usually a wealth of information. Thursday was no different. Speaking from his Las Vegas office, Arum filled ESPN.com in with good yentel on many of his top fighters:

Morales' title talk: Although Erik Morales (48-5, 34 KOs) has lost four of his last five fights, including two in a row to Manny Pacquiao, the Mexican star isn't ready to retire. He wants one more title fight before he calls it a career, and he may get his wish sooner than later.

Lightweight world champion Joel Casamayor is trying to finalize a deal to fight Acelino "Popo" Freitas this spring. If that fight happens, Casamayor (the Ring magazine champion) probably will either relinquish or be stripped of his WBC version of the title for not going through with a mandatory match against interim titleholder David Diaz.
