It was not your typical Super Bowl party. It started at 3 a.m., and there wasn't any beer. But there were M-16s.

For reasons he's still trying to put into perspective a week later, it felt like home to Marques Douglas, a sixth-year defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers. He was thousands of miles away from the place that really was home to him. He was in the middle of a desert in Afghanistan and technically in grave danger.
