Mark DeRosa Q&A

Mark DeRosa played quarterback at Penn, but decided to play baseball, and now he's the second baseman for the Chicago Cubs. We e-mailed him questions, he e-mailed answers.

1. If you had been running the Oakland Raiders, who would you have taken with the No. 1 choice in the NFL draft?

MD: This was argued for days inside the clubhouse. The obvious choice is JaMarcus Russell. His size, arm strength and mobility are unmatched. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I didn't take him and he turned out to be the next Donovan McNabb, if not better. We all saw the Texans pass on Reggie Bush and Vince Young and no matter how good Mario Williams becomes I think he will not reach the level of the other two. Although adding Calvin Johnson to your team wouldn't hurt either. Even if Brady Quinn turns into the next Tom Brady, I think Russell's talent is too special to pass on. All that being said, I would need an interview with all three to be certain when picking.
