World record-holder Powell will run 100m after recent groin injury
ROME -- World record-holder Asafa Powell has entered the 100 meters Friday at the Golden Gala, his first race since he injured his groin June 23 at the Jamaican championships.
"I suppose he won't be in form to set a new record after his injury, but we're happy to have him," meet director Luigi D'Onofrio said Monday.
Powell won't find Tyson Gay waiting for him in Rome.
