Practice Prose: BMX Big Air
This year's mega ramp, despite having the most BMX riders ever riding on it, is still not for the faint-hearted. Bailing while trying to clear a 50-plus-foot gap or while airing out of a 24-foot quarterpipe is bad news. As prepared as you think you are, it's probably not enough. During Tuesday's practice, 2006 X vert winner Chad Kagy, severely broke his collarbone attempting a double tailwhip flip over the short gap.
