Olympic floor champ Shewfelt to miss worlds after breaking legs
STUTTGART, Germany -- Olympic floor champion Kyle Shewfelt won't compete at the world gymnastics championships after breaking bones in both legs during training.
The Canadian gymnast landed awkwardly while practicing a difficult tumbling move on the floor exercise that included two aerial somersaults with a twist. He fractured his left and right tibias, though they were not considered severe breaks and should not require surgery.
