Latest race cancellation puts Bourdais on verge of another title

The cancellation of the final race of the Champ Car World Series season makes one wonder about the health of the league. It does, however, serve to make Sebastien Bourdais' championship lead healthier as the circuit heads to Holland, writes John Oreovicz.

ASSEN, Netherlands -- Sebastien Bourdais' 53-point lead in the Champ Car World Series standings is looking a little more comfortable than it did just a couple of days ago.

While the series is away from the United States on a two-week European tour, series management acknowledged the cancellation by the promoter of the Grand Prix of Arizona in downtown Phoenix, the scheduled series finale.
