The Minnesota Vikings came away with a solid win at home in Week 1 by incorporating excellent defense and an effective ground attack led by first-round pick Adrian Peterson.

Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who took over the play-calling duties from head coach Brad Childress this season, wasn't afraid to call the rookie's number in the opener. And with starting RB Chester Taylor banged up, Bevell used Peterson in the ground game and as a receiver out of the backfield.
