Marco Antonio Barrera, one of the greatest fighters of our time and one of Mexico's greatest ever, called it quits after losing a clear decision to Manny Pacquiao in their rematch Saturday night in Las Vegas. At 33, Barrera was unable to turn back the clock like he had done so many times before. In five years, Barrera (63-6, 42 KOs) will go into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot with world titles at junior featherweight, featherweight and junior lightweight as well as many memorable performances on his stellar resume. I was fortunate enough to cover nine Barrera fights at ringside and watched many more on TV or video.
