Eagles waive McCoy, elevate rookie LB Jordan from practice squad

The Philadelphia Eagles on Monday afternoon waived former second-round draft choice Matt McCoy, a one-time starter at weakside linebacker, ending a mostly disappointing three-year tenure with the team.

The release of McCoy, who might draw some interest from other teams on the waiver wire because of his youth and potential, came just one day after he was flagged for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty in the third quarter of Sunday's victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The call came ...
