Close wins have been a trademark of Cavaliers' season

The details are of little concern to Virginia coach Al Groh. All he knows is that his Cavaliers have found a way to keep winning.

And if they keep it up, they'll play in their first ACC championship game the first weekend in December.

Have they been lucky? Maybe a little. But they've also been opportunistic, resilient and cool under pressure. Groh will take that combination any day, which is the reason the Cavaliers (8-2, 5-1) have won eight of their last nine games and are sitting in first place in the Coastal Division.
