Packers head coach Mike McCarthy deserves a lot of credit for having an outstanding season, since he is the man in charge and also happens to be the play caller on offense. However, he has a group of noteworthy assistants that help him get the recognition he deserves.

Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin has moved up the ranks quickly because he has proven to be a good teacher with an innovative mind that adds to McCarthy's play calling. Philbin joined the Packers initially as the assistant offensive line coach, quickly got promoted to tight ends coach and then back to being in charge of the offensive line. Before joining the Packers, he had success in the college ranks and he is on track to become a head coach soon, either in the NFL or college.
