After dominating opponents through the first 10 weeks of the season on offense, the Patriots have not been nearly as explosive in the past two weeks. A big reason is because defenses are now taking a different approach in defending them.

In the past two weeks the Patriots have faced Philadelphia and Baltimore who have two defensive coordinators that are near the top of their profession. Philadelphia's Jim Johnson and Baltimore's Rex Ryan brought numerous blitz packages versus the Patriots and played a lot of physical bump-and-run coverage on the outside with their corners. This strategy had some success because, offensively, New England is not very physical and the Eagles and Ravens were able to disrupt the Patriots' offensive flow.
