Tony Hawk Foundation Gives $25K To Eureka Skatepark

EUREKA, Calif.—The effort to bring a top-notch skateboard park to Eureka, CA, just got a boost from the biggest name in skateboarding.

The Tony Hawk Foundation gave $25,000 to the park's funding campaign, which is the maximum grant that the foundation gives out.

Eureka city councilman Jeff Leonard says he was surprised the project was chosen for the grant. The grant brings the park's fundraising total to about a $250,000, which is about $50,000 short of the city's goal.
