Vikes' DTs force teams to pass

In Minnesota, the name Williams is synonymous with toughness and run stoppers. Pro Bowl DTs Kevin Williams and Pat Williams (no relation) anchor the Vikings' No. 1 ranked run defense.
Kevin Williams is the taller of the two defensive tackles and he has the athleticism of a defensive end, but the stoutness of a tackle. He does an excellent job of getting off the ball and getting a push right away against interior offensive linemen. His hand quickness allows him to get the inside positioning and then he will press the offensive guard back, which allows him to play the run or react to a pass. Kevin Williams is relentless to the ball carrier because he understands pursuit angles very well.
