After triumph at Orange Bowl, Mangino earns coach of year award

Kansas Jayhawks coach Mark Mangino, fresh off the team's 24-21 Orange Bowl victory against Virginia Tech, was named the winner of the 2007 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award.

The award, voted on by the Football Writers Association of America and named after the legendary Grambling State coach, was presented Friday night to Mangino, who flew to New Orleans for the awards dinner after the Orange Bowl. Mangino also was named coach of the year by The Associated Press in mid-December.
