Cromartie already a star

The San Diego Chargers' Antonio Cromartie is just 23 years old and has started only eight regular-season games in his two-year NFL career, but he already is one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL. And when you examine his game, it isn't just his 10 interceptions this season that inspire awe. Cromartie has deadly ball skills and is extremely aggressive. He attacks the ball in the air like it was intended for him, using his rare combination of height, leaping ability, body control and overall explosiveness to get his big, soft hands on the ball. He wants to catch every ball thrown his direction and turn it around for a touchdown. Cromartie is big and strong enough to do battle with the likes of Terrell Owens and Larry Fitzgerald, yet fast and fluid enough to keep up with athletic wideouts like Chad Johnson and Torry Holt. He has all the tools a cornerback needs. If you were to ask any NFL scout what he looks for in the ideal corner, he would describe what sounds like a superhero. But Cromartie is just that kind of player.
