We preferred the one-time shoots provided by the smaller remote potholes rather than dry field hunts or set-ups on many of the larger lakes that dot the countryside. We had to stay on the move daily to make sure we were hunting unmolested ducks.
After a few hours and 150 driving miles, at the end of Day One, we had found several of our favored small potholes holding ducks. Two fields held ducks who were dry feeding.
