Eckstein, McDonald both leave Jays game with injuries

TORONTO -- The Blue Jays lost shortstops David Eckstein and then John McDonald to injuries in Tuesday night's 5-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

"That doesn't happen too often," manager John Gibbons said. "That's not a good situation. I wouldn't expect to see either one of them for a few days."

Eckstein left in the fifth inning with a sore right hip and McDonald, his replacement, had to leave after injuring his right ankle in the sixth.
