Next up in the "best of/worst of" 2007 series is the most controversial of all metrics: bad decisions by quarterbacks. I've never quite understood why this metric causes as much consternation as it does, especially considering that the criteria for a bad decision are quite objective. A quarterback is debited in this area when he makes a mistake with the ball that leads to a turnover or a near turnover. For example, if he throws a pass and doesn't see a linebacker in the passing lane and the ball is picked off because of it, then he receives a mark for a bad decision.
