Ortiz, Chipper, Liriano, weekend watch

Too many fantasy baseball owners figure they can pay attention to what's going on from Monday through Friday afternoon and be all caught up. It's the summer, the beach beckons, they're not at their computers during work to look up player news, there's outside stuff to do. Then they check their team out on Monday morning and everything has changed over the weekend.

I know the ones in my leagues who are like this. They make unwise roster moves when up against the weekly deadline, not realizing the Lastings Milledge they just dropped is about to play again, or they give up on Joel Hanrahan two days before Jon Rauch was traded, which was poor timing. To be honest, I have the occasional weekend where I miss a few things, but I always catch up on Sunday night before the Fantasy Focus on ESPN Radio, which I host from 9-10 p.m. ET, and before I make roster moves. Tune in if you get a chance. We've got folk hero Stephania Bell, live every Sunday, talking injuries!

Anyway, the roundabout point here is, every weekend a lot of things happen to your fantasy teams, even if you don't know it. In preparation for this fine weekend, here are a bunch of things I expect to happen, so you can get ahead of the curve. Obviously, there might be trades as well, which I can't speculate on, but as I wrote in Relief Efforts, when a pitcher moves on, he's not the only one affected.
