Louisville suspends QB Simms for violation of team rules

Louisville backup quarterback Matt Simms has been suspended for the first four games of the season by coach Steve Kragthorpe for an unspecified violation of team rules, the school announced Tuesday night.

Simms is the son of Phil Simms, the former New York Giants quarterback and Super Bowl MVP. His older brother, Chris, played at Texas and is currently with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A person briefed on the matter told ESPN's Joe Schad that Matt Simms' situation is not a legal issue. ...
