Hamshaw wins 156-pound final
TAMPA, Fla. -- Anthony Hamshaw, sponsored by Sugar Ray Leonard, a friend of his late father, kept his Olympic hopes alive Sunday by winning the 156-pound final in the challenger's bracket at the U.S. Olympic Boxing Trials.
Before and after the fourth round, Hamshaw looked up and mouthed some words.
"I was just talking to my father (Henry Russell) who died Aug. 5," said the 21-year-old Hamshaw, who outpointed Sergio Mora of Los Angeles 13-6.
