BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox junked defeatism for a brand-new mindset with Johnny Damon, Kevin Millar and the "idiots" in 2004, and baseball autumns have never been the same in this city.

No matter what obstacles arise, the Red Sox believe that plastic wrap will adorn the locker stalls come October.
