Call it a "don't mess with Texas" kind of opening weekend in women's basketball. After unranked TCU got the upset train rolling Friday night, beating No. 5 Maryland, on Sunday No. 17 Baylor knocked off No. 2 Stanford 81-65.

And Texas A&M looked, not surprisingly, to be the most impressive of the four teams at the State Farm Tipoff Classic doubleheader in Baton Rouge, La. The No. 10 Aggies downed No. 23 Pittsburgh 56-50 in a game in which A&M coach Gary Blair rightfully worried if TV viewers were nodding off.
